Well, I began my new eating plan today and am struggling mentally more than anything. Funny how the mind works – just because I have chosen to limit myself to a measured amount and certain types of food, I feel like I’m starving myself.  I’m not starving. It’s about control, I think.

At any rate, the plan is Dr. Cohen’s 1st Personal Diet – you can click the link to learn more but essentially I had some metabolic blood work done and he has recommended a combination of proteins and veggies to get my blood chemistry back in balance which in turn will make my body a fat burning machine.  Awesome, huh?

When I reach my goal weight, then they will change the plan into “refeeding” where I will reintroduce other foods and increase portions without gaining the weight back.  I’m looking forward to that day, let me tell you.

So I created a meal plan for this week based on the foods on my plan.  I have to measure everything before cooking, so I ended up having to cook each meal separately. I’m sure that I’ll get a better system down before the 90 days are up.

Steak and Asparagus

Some of the rules are: no oil except cooking spray, no sauces, no more than 5 hours between meals. So, “no oil” makes cooking a little more interesting. I relied on my coconut oil in cooking things like chicken to keep it from drying out when I reheat it. I would cook several servings ahead of time for the entire week.

Yesterday I did cook several meals for this week …

A few of the meals for this week.

Here is day 1

Meals for Day 1

Yogurt, steak and asparagus, a salad with chicken and I can have up to 3 fruits a day. Not so bad, really. But I still may whine about it. Just so you know.

My starting numbers:

Weight: 179 lbs
Size: 12/14
Waist: 36″
Hips: 44.5″
Body fat: 28%

Here I am, taking on the fat … time for you to get lost!!

Grrrr! This fat has GOT to go! (3 bandaids on my leg! yikes!)

They told me the first 3-4 days may be tough but after that my body will adjust and I will start feeling better. Is it Thursday yet? Praying for endurance and perseverance…
